faxZero – Send a Fax for FREE

Here is a (fairly) new site that I just stumbled upon today. I wanted to share it with everyone!

Have you ever needed to send someone a fax, but weren’t close to a fax machine? Maybe you don’t even have a fax machine – so for you, faxing something means jumping in your car and driving yourself down to the closest FedEx Kinkos. Perhaps you have a file on your computer that needs to be faxed and it would be easier to simply fax it from your computer rather than printing and sending through a fax machine

Whatever your reason, it’s really a lot more convenient to send a fax across the Internet from your computer.

faxZero allows you to send a fax to anywhere in the US or Canada for free with very few restrictions. Obviously, someone is paying for that fax. The service is free but you are limited 2 faxes a day and each fax can be a maximum of 3 pages. They also place an ad on the cover page that you fax.

This service is obviously not for businesses or anyone who needs to be sending faxes on a constant basis, but I doubt you would be needing this service if you were a business. Regardless, it’s a great way to quickly send faxes to friends or family for free!

Just fill out the sender info and the receiver info and either attach a Word or PDF document and your done. You can also simply type text into the box.

The following picture is a copy of the cover page sent with your fax.  The cover page does not count against the 3 page limit for each fax.

If you feel the person receiving the fax would be offended by the ad, then you definitely don’t want to be using this service, otherwise they can just discard the first page to view your fax.

If you need to send more than 2 faxes a day or without the ad on the cover page, you can sign up for the Premium account, which is a $1.99 per fax, unlimited faxes per day, no ads on the faxes, and a 15 page limit on each fax.

If the fax number is busy, faxZero will try up to 5 times to send the fax to the number and will send you a confirmation email once it has been received. Also, the files must be under 10MB in order to work.

Overall an easy and simple way to send faxes for free from your computer! If you can live with ads, it’s perfect! Enjoy!
